  • We primarily offer telehealth appointments but can facilitate in-person appointments with advanced notice in both New York and Kentucky.

  • We will ask you to provide some basic information about why you are seeking genetic counseling upon scheduling your appointment. During your telehealth appointment, we will review that information as well as other necessary medical information, including a full family history as available.

    We will also explore options for testing and/or results, and create a follow-up plan.

    Specimen collection can often be done at home with a cheek swab or a saliva sample.

  • Tech

    All you need is a device that is capable of making video calls and a secure WiFi connection. We prefer that your appointment takes place in a quiet and private environment.

    Intake

    Upon confirmation of your appointment, you will be sent forms to fill out in advance to collect information about the health history of you and your family. If your biological family is accessible, please check in with them (think births, deaths, and diagnoses).

    If you do not have access to your biological family history, no need to worry — we can discuss this further during your appointment.

  • With your permission, we will involve any and all of your providers in this evaluation and follow-up at your request.

  • Yes! Feel free to reach out with any and all genetic and inherited health questions and concerns.

  • At this time, we do not accept insurance for most services. However, we are able to provide assistance for those seeking reimbursement for genetic counseling.

    Testing may be covered by insurance.

    There are self-pay options that often start from $250.
