About Crane Insights
Through expert genetic counseling, Crane Insights can help you understand how your family’s health history impacts your current or future health outcomes.
Genetic counselors (GCs) are board-certified healthcare providers who help patients and families understand how genetic conditions may affect them or their loved ones. They have specialized training in medical genetics and counseling, making them uniquely qualified to help patients and families with genetic conditions. They engage in patient-centered shared decision-making, facilitated genetic testing, translate complex information for patients, and communicate with healthcare teams to integrate genetic information into a patient’s screening and management. GCs stay informed on the latest practices in genetics and genomics to ensure patients receive state-of-the-art care.
As specialization in medicine increases and genomic knowledge and technologies expand, unfortunately most healthcare professionals, like doctors or nurse practitioners, receive minimal training in clinical genetics and genetic testing. Healthcare teams increasingly depend on genetic counselors to assess risks, interpret test results, and provide updated recommendations. GCs are available at many academic medical centers and institutions. From referral to appointment, it can take months to finally see a genetic specialist, and the GC maybe only be able to address concerns for one body system, needing to place an additional referral if you have multiple healthcare concerns.
At Crane Insights, you have direct access to consult a genetics professional to ensure that all of your needs are being met in a timely manner. Crane Insights views each patient interaction as a chance to empower individuals, ensure patients are well-informed about genetic testing, and are supported throughout their journey with the results, both personally and within their families. Regardless of where you are in the clinical genetics process, Crane Insights is here to help.

Founder
I am the founder of Crane Insights. I am a licensed clinical genetic counselor, board-certified by the American Board of Genetic Counseling. I received both my Masters of Arts in Medical Humanities and Bioethics and my Masters of Science in Genetic Counseling from Northwestern University. I am dedicated to staying current with genomic advancements to offer the best care possible.
I have held many roles in Genetics: researcher, provider, family member, friend, and caregiver. These experiences have uniquely shaped my blend of empathy and expertise. This perspective allows me to guide individuals and families through their genetic journeys with compassion and insight.
Prior to graduate school, I facilitated clinical research, including clinical trials and natural history studies, with individuals who have neurodevelopmental conditions at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. Currently, I provide comprehensive care in an academic medical setting, addressing a wide range of symptoms across all body systems and ages at the University of Kentucky.
Beyond my clinical work, I am a Founding Board Member and Secretary for the Kentucky Society for Genetic Counselors (KYSGC), and have contributed to the field through roles with the Accreditation Council for Genetic Counseling (ACGC), and the Basser Young Leadership Council. I also serve on the Beyond Barnard Board supporting students and graduates to pursue success in their careers and communities.
